About Dr. Hovan
“There are many amazing benefits to therapy; ways we can understand the past, be mindful of the present, and make changes for our future. Therapy is a space where we can examine all that has shaped us— those that have built us up and those that have knocked us down.
Therapy can be your safe space to manage distress and discomfort while exploring who you are and who you want to be. In that process, you may discover parts that you question or challenge. You may identify disconnects between your thoughts and actions. You may acknowledge areas you want to make adjustments or changes to. And I hope you will also see how powerful it can be to validate and provide compassion to yourself given all you have been through. All of this can be BOTH difficult AND so incredibly valuable.
This is why I believe it is essential to find a clinician whom you are comfortable with and trust. One who can support you, challenge you, and encourage you to challenge yourself.
If you think I may be able to support you in your journey, please reach out. If, as we get to know one another, it seems that there may be a different clinical style or approach that would benefit you I am happy to discuss ways I can help in finding the best clinician to do so.”
