Experience

Hiba utilizes an integrative approach to therapy that is centered around compassion and flexibility. She draws upon many evidence-based frameworks in order to ensure she is supporting and empowering her clients in meeting the goals they have set for themselves as she understands each person has unique experiences and needs. Through her work, Hiba would like her clients to feel unconditionally supported, understood, and challenged to achieve their desired outcomes.

Hiba has a variety of experiences working in the areas of anxiety, family trauma, improving communication, and better understanding the root of relationship patterns. More specifically, her experience includes:

  • Training in trauma-focused and trauma-informed approaches including Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT).

  • Training at the Family Institute at Northwestern University in acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) and emotionally-focused therapy (EFT).

  • Individual and group therapy for clients with body image and disordered eating concerns at the Eating Recovery Center.


Education

Hiba received her Master’s in Counseling from Northwestern University, specifically through Northwestern’s Family Institute. Prior to her graduate studies, Hiba received her Bachelor’s degree from Benedictine University, where she completed a major in Psychology and a minor in Biology.
