About Dr. Zabinski
“A metaphor I feel that encapsulates therapy, and one that I have built off of is that of cleaning out a garage from comedian Kenny DeForest. When taking on a garage clean-out, you often begin by pulling everything down and off shelves to see what you have. And in doing so, you initially make a bigger mess. Yet this is an important step that allows you to see everything, sort through items individually, and decide whether it is something you still want or need in your life. As you progress through the garage clean-out and have more cleared shelves, you may find you have more space to rearrange the remaining pieces and make room for new experiences. By the end, the goal is to have the garage more comfortable, accessible, and organized so you not only know what you have but you can also find what you need when you need it.”
